Children's Church provides a teaching ministry that
addresses the total child and brings him/her to a vital experience
with God. The program is designed to introduce children ages six
to twelve to the teachings of the Bible. Service for this
group, whose attendance averages twenty five to thirty eight students
per week, are provided at 11:00 a.m. each Sunday.
Each Sunday morning (except the first Sunday) for approximately
ten minutes, the children are taught Biblical Principles, Cal to
Worship, Praise and Worship and/or Christian Ethics by the churches'
Assistant Pastor. Spiritually dedicated, supplemental teachers then do
a Follow-up Lesson, using Hand-On Bible Curriculum (designed by the
Pastor), by stimulating students to creative thinking and
providing opportunities for the children to become involved in the
learning process. The children survey the Bible sequentially, memorize
the books of the Bible, are taught to understand the composition of
the Old Testament, and learn praise songs, and Bible scriptures. They
also fellowship together and discover God's world through field trips,
through the incorporation of their program into the main body for
special events such as Christmas and Founder's Day, and through
participation in Dinner-Theatre productions. Interdepartmental
cross-training is preparation for total Christian vocation includes a
choir, a board of deacons, a board of trustees, ushers, and finance
and accounting. Children's Church is equipped with a VCR, a color TV,
workbooks, individual Bibles, a portable bulletin board, dry-erase
boards, a sound system, supplies, a piano and an organ.
